Antique Five Stone Diamond Ring

£2,395.00

This gleaming antique ring comprises five old cushion-cut diamonds, just waiting to be paired with a beautiful modern band or worn alone in all its glory. Each cushion cut diamond is set in a very unique four prong setting, seamlessly crafted to hug the stones and keep them flush with the setting. This yellow gold band was crafted in the late 1800’s and does not show much wear for its age, a beautiful antique heirloom that has already been passed along for generations. You can add some history (and diamonds!) to your collection.

How we would wear it:
This ring styles beautifully with other antique or contemporary stacking bands, and would also make a stunning engagement ring or even a dazzling wedding band!

** There is a full set of UK hallmarks for 14ct gold on this ring - we believe these have been applied in the 1980s. There is also a stamp for 18ct. What has likely happened is that it was originally made in at the turn of the century, and in the 1980s the owner at the time submitted it for hallmarking. As the purity of gold wasn’t as consistent in the late 1800s/early 1900s, it has fallen very slightly short for modern standards of 18ct gold and therefore would have been required to be hallmarked a grade down. That is why is has contradicting hallmarks/stamps, but also why the sponsors mark is for Sheffield Assay Office, and not for a jeweller/maker.
