The Bespoke Process

Starting The Journey

If you are based in Edinburgh, we would always recommend first visiting our store to view the existing collections firsthand. If this isn't possible, browsing through our jewellery online will help start your process to finding the perfect design.

Whether you are looking to commission bespoke wedding or engagement rings, celebrate an anniversary, or redesign inherited jewellery, we are on hand to help you explore every option, to make sure you feel confident in your choices.

Choosing Your Designer

We sell work from a range of independent jewellers; from decadent statement pieces to minimalist jewels, we have a broad range of styles and price points.

When browsing, if you see work from a designer that speaks to the style you have been searching for, we can facilitate creating a unique design from them. Perhaps you love the style of a designer but would prefer different gemstones, or a different metal colour? Or you love elements from their designs you would like to see incorporated into a personalised design? There is a breadth of possibilities with bespoke, and we are here to guide you every step of the way.

Finalising Your Brief

There is a breadth of possibilities with bespoke, and we are here to help your visualise your ideas. To help you get started, we recommend thinking through the following points, to establish your design brief.

AESTHETIC – Are you drawn to organic or geometric designs? Are you looking for something to wear everyday, or for special occasions?

METALS  – Do you wear gold, platinum, palladium? If gold, do you prefer yellow, rose or white gold?

GEMSTONES - Is there a particular gemstone that holds meaning for you? Do you need a stone that can withstand everyday wear? Are there colours you particularly love?

PRICE FRAME – Do you have a specific budget to cater to?

TIMESCALE – do you have a special date you need the jewellery completed for, such as an anniversary or wedding?

All of these questions will help you consider the parameters of your design, to help decide on your brief and formalise your brief. Once we have a brief to work from, we can speak to the designer to receive a quote for your design.

Starting The Process

Once you have decided on your design brief and we have received a quote from the designer, to start the bespoke process we request a 50% deposit before proceeding with your design. Please note once you have paid your 50% deposit you are committed to the process and at this point your order cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Time Scale

From date of deposit, the process will take between 4 - 8 weeks,  depending on the complexity of the design. If you have a particular deadline in mind, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate this. We love the bespoke process; making something unique to you can take time, but it is always worth the wait.

At busier times, in particular the lead up to Christmas, our designers can be very busy, so we recommend getting in touch as soon as possible, to make sure we can adhere to your deadline. We look forward to hearing from you!
