Jake Matluck

ætla Summer Resident | Jake Matluck

New York-based jeweller Jake Matluck creates jewellery informed by ancient goldsmithing traditions and an emphasis on hand fabrication. Introduced to jewellery-making as a child through his mother, Jake’s early experiments bending copper wire and creating silver granules sparked a lasting fascination with the craft. That interest later led him to formal training at Jewelry Arts Inc., where he refined historic techniques that continue to define his work today.

Founded in 2023, the line draws inspiration from Greek, Etruscan, Roman, Celtic, Cypriot, and Indonesian goldsmithing traditions dating from 900–200 BCE, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Each piece is hand-fabricated in Jake’s New York City studio using his signature 22ct yellow gold alloy, natural gemstones, and antique diamonds. With a focus on materiality, provenance, and process, his work celebrates the individuality and intimacy of handmade jewellery.
