Hallmarks are the symbols applied to different metal types once tested to assure customers of a metal's fineness.
Genevieve has always been drawn to the aesthetic qualities of these symbols and their historical relevance. In 2021 she designed her Golden Futures range as part of the GCDC competition to showcase these symbols and heroise them as central to the design. These studs are additions to this original collection and celebrate the history of the jewellery industry in the UK.
Shown here are the crown (symbol for gold) and a leopard head (symbol for London's Assay office).
Genevieve Schwartz’s pieces are all handmade in her London studio.
