Inspired by ancient amphora vessels, this distinctive fibula pin features a hand-carved Scottish banded agate pendant in soft, translucent shades of grey, finished with an 18ct gold collar. The silver pin is decorated with a jasper bead in warm tones of mustard and terracotta, while a series of delicate loops adds detail to its unusual form. Inspired by Neolithic and Bronze Age stone carving, Sian Evans’ jewellery explores the enduring qualities of stone and precious metals. Sian often personally sources and hand-carves the stones using traditional lapidary techniques, as well as alloying her own precious metals. Involved in every stage of the making process, her work celebrates ancient craftsmanship, carefully selected materials and techniques that have endured for thousands of years.
