Sian Evans
Sian is a British jewellery designer, goldsmith and lapidarist based in Dorset. With a career spanning four decades, her work draws on archaeology, geology, nature and sustainable technologies, combining traditional craftsmanship with a longstanding interest in storytelling and material history.
Sustainability is central to Sian’s practice. Her recent collections explore ancient, low-carbon jewellery techniques alongside recycled and found precious materials, preserving historic processes while placing them within a contemporary context. A former Senior Lecturer in Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins, her research has encompassed sustainable mining, Neolithic and Bronze Age technologies, lithics and metalworking.
Sian’s work is held in the V&A collection and has been exhibited at Sotheby’s, Goldsmiths’ Fair and Collect. She is recognised as a Homo Faber Master Artisan and received a QEST scholarship to further her study of lapidary, intaglio and cameo carving.
