The Jasper Ashurbanipal Ring features a broad piece of mustard jasper, sourced from the hills north of Glasgow, set on a sterling silver band. The softly irregular stone retains its natural markings and variations, punctuated by two silver details across its surface. Its generous proportions place the character and colour of the jasper at the centre of the piece. Inspired by Neolithic and Bronze Age stone carving, Sian Evans’ jewellery explores the enduring qualities of stone and precious metals. Sian often personally sources and hand-carves the stones using traditional lapidary techniques, as well as alloying her own precious metals.
